The University of Arizona Center for Health and Technology (CHaT) create a robust, real-time partnership informed by the unique perspectives of nursing and engineering to identify healthcare challenges, develop/enhance technology-based solutions, evaluate outcomes, and make well-informed decisions, all aimed at enhancing healthcare quality and improved outcomes. The CHaT focus on developing, evaluating, and implementing technology-enhanced interventions to improve the scalability and clinical reach of evidence-based interventions.
Our Mission

Our Goals
- Research: Cultivate transdisciplinary translational (TT) mentored team science to solve real-world scientific inquiries for unmet healthcare needs and achieve universal care access - e.g., co-create/enhance testbeds to conduct preliminary research; create, test, and implement new digital technologies, Use big digital health data with advanced analytics (AI/ML).
- Education and Workforce Development: Educate a workforce with capacity for promoting wellness that is to prepare students/fellows to use fundamental domain principle to innovate, invent and create value – e.g., dual degree programs and/or innovation-based learning.
- Community Impacts & Industry/Government Partnerships: Use testbed facility for projects and collaborations with industrial companies and other organizations for sustainability. Become the national biotech academic hub for transdisciplinary development and testing with expertise in regulatory science (collaborate with FDA), intellectual properties, and other sustainability components.
