Speaker: Dr. Zvika Shinar, UND
Bio: Zvika Shinar holds a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Tel Aviv University, where his research focused on advanced ECG and EMG signal-processing methods for automated sleep analysis.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the health-tech industry, specializing in translating innovative concepts into viable products, and is an inventor on more than 20 granted patents. He co-founded and served as CTO of HypnoCore, a digital therapy company that delivered digital CBT-i for insomnia patients, and later served as Chief Scientist at EarlySense, helping bring novel contact-free patient monitoring technology into hospitals.
Throughout his career, Zvika has led R&D teams and collaborated with global companies, including Beurer and Samsung, on products spanning sleep and fertility monitoring, preterm infant monitoring, and smart home and wellness applications.
As CTO of MindUP a digital health investment incubator, he led technological due diligence and mentored early-stage healthcare companies.
Zvika joined the Biomedical Engineering program at the University of North Dakota last year, and recently replaced Kouhyar as PI of an ARPA-H-funded project focused on skin and proactive health in senior living.
